Any show from the "Master" Hitchcock frightened me when I was a kid. Most of the characters were ordinary people doing ordinary things, much like we did in real life, but the end always held the surprise! You just never knew what to expect.

I still what them when they are on TV, even though I know what is going to happen in the end, still gets me!

I also loved the Alfred Hitchock TV series. Been so long since I've seen them, but certain episodes stick with you. One famous entry many remember (including me) is the one where a nurse is in a mansion alone with a killer lurking outside. It scared me pretty bad as a kid.

THE BIRDS is a true classic. I have a great childhood memory from my first viewing. My buddy and I (we were both 8 years old at the time) went to a Saturday matinee showing of HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (1959). This was in '63 when THE BIRDS first ran. In those days, you could buy a ticket for a daytime matinee and just stay in the theater all day & night if you wanted. My friend's mother told him, whatever you do, don't stay for THE BIRDS. That movie is Not For Kids! Well, needless to say, we loved HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL and also stayed for THE BIRDS (bad, little boys we were). We really loved that and went home and acted out the whole movie.
