i like this website (nyuk, nyuk, nyuk)\the short film i remember the most, i believe is called, pop goes the weasal\thats the one where curly is a great prize fighter, but only when he hears the tune, pop goes the weasal, which drives him crazy\larry plays it for him on a violin, but then the violin gets broken, so larry runs to try to find something that the music can be played on, or by\when he runs, he runs down a street that looks like its in new york city, but im not sure\there is a long line of tiny little businesses on that street\nothing like that exists anymore\i know it is said you cant go home again, but that scene sort of comes close to allowing it\there is a simplicity & honesty about the stooge films that is charming\i understand that larry actually played the violin\he had to take it up as an exercise to restore the muscles in his hand, which he spilled acid on when he was young\anyway, my topic is this: what short stooge film, or part of short stooge film, do you find especially important, & unforgetable, & why?\

Welcome to the board Vincent. Always great to have another stooge fan here. The Curly boxing short you mentioned is titled PUNCH DRUNKS (1934). It is also one of my favorites as well.

I enjoy all of the stooge shorts and have many favorites, but for some reason, the one that always really did it for me was MEN IN BLACK (1934). Everytime I hear, "Calling Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard!", it takes me back to being a kid and seeing it on Sally Starr's Popeye Theater from Philly, PA. MIB is still one of their most bizzare, and I love the whole insane feel.

Years ago they had a "Crack open a twelve pack of Curly's" film festival at the Royal Oak Music Threater. Therre was 1200 fans screaming Go Larry Go! Go Larry Go! as he was running up and down the avenue looking for "Pop goes the Weasel" What a riot!

okay, dangerkittytotherescue, lets wreck this joint!!!\(nyuk, nyuk, nyuk)\i wish i could use the emoticon showing curly fighting, but i cant get it to work\cant get colors either\i think it has to do with my using a library computer in honolulu\i am on an island, & the connection must be by satellite (the cable would be too long), so maybe there are problems because of that\they should make a new three stooges short film, with the stooges installing cable internet from the mainland to hawaii\they would only discover it was going on, when they would suddenly realize all of their cable was missing\& those three idiots would be far out in the ocean, trying to stretch it\:4stooges:

Vincent, you mentioned you're in Honolulu. I think it's cool how the internet lets people from all over the world communicate and share common interests. That's what I like best about it.

Just curious how you found the site and message board. Did you get here from doing a search on Google or another search engine? I've tried to make the site and board searchable, but sometimes it's listed pretty far down in the rankings. However, if you type "lunkhead" into google, lunkhead.net comes up number one. I've added a lot of search keywords, but there are so many stooge sites & listings out there it's hard to get a top ranking.

i dont know\i always use dogpile.com - thats my favourite search engine\but i just tried it, & i couldnt find your site!!!\well, i know where to find it, & i think i prefer going to a quiet site, with a few friends there, anyway\let it be a little secret - that way, we can invite people\its like a secret occult society, a coven of witches, or something like that\oh, by the way, the technology of the internet amazes me - i am on an island, very far away from everything else, but i have a firm internet connection\now, if only gilligan had had a laptop computer, the professor could have linked up some sort of a connection, & they would have got off the island!!!\
