Hee hee! I fooled you all by not fooling you! Get it? Hee hee. Here's an interesting fact about April Fool's Day in France:
Instead of April Fool's Day in France, they have April Fish Day. Schoolchildren in France cut out a paper fish and slap it on someone's back.
And here's another fact about April Fool's Day:
April Fool's Day originated in France in 1564 when Charles IX changed the date of the beginning of the new year from April 1st to January 1st. It is a tradition in France to give presents on the beginning of the new year, so instead of giving gifts on April 1st, they played jokes on April 1st!
And that is the history of April Fool's Day! I learned all of this in my French class this morning. Interesting, isn't it?
