This is a very good piece of sci-fi, slightly reminiscent of “DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS”. The theme of contamination via alien origin remains contemporary. The special effects are neatly done, and the tension mounts as a shuttle heads toward Earth with an unintentional deadly cargo. Good cast and performances. There are several heroes, and virtually all the characters are likeable. Look for an extremely young Dabney Coleman and Russell Johnson, shortly before GILLIGAN’S ISLAND debuted. The music and sound effects add an eerie sense of dread, and the photography is top notch once again.
Interesting how THE OUTER LIMITS could have so many different looks and feels. The creativity is amazing. Each episode is unique and beckons us to escape into various worlds of possibilities and ideas. Though Season One is dearest to my heart, I also love Season Two. It too has many classics, and it will be fun for us to review them as well.
