The Sitter Downers

This short is a favorite with many fans because it has lots of action and several great lines.
The Three Stooges want to marry their sweethearts, Corabell, Dorabell and Florabell, but their father, Mr. Bell, refuses to grant them permission so the boys go on a sit down strike. As they set up "strike camp" in the middle of Mr. Bell's living room, the news of their plight spreads like wildfire and soon the boys are receiving fan mail and gifts including a lot and a prefabricated house. An exasperated Mr. Bell finally gives in and allows the boys to marry his daughters.
Upon arriving at their "new home", the boys discover that they must build it themselves. When they refuse, their wives stage their own sit down strike! No House, No Honeymoon! The boys decide to build their new home and that gives them the opportunity to play with dynamite with the usual stooge antics. After the boys have a little accident with their "firecrackers", Corabell rescues Curly from a tree upon listening to Curly yell, and later she destroys the new home - watch the planks rain down on everyone!
The set up in this short is that Curly repeatedly ends up on the short (and long) end of the stick. Moe and Larry, opening mail, discover lavish gifts while a disappointed Curly gets the gas bill. Moe and Larry relax on the couch, Curly sits down on spikes. This is the quintessential Curly short with Curly at his best.
